Two brothers, two cities, two apartments in Funchal. Capicora was built for them.
The apartments
The apartments sat closed for more than ten years after a fire. Between insurers and courts, the years went by. In 2025 they opened again, with the furniture that was left. That is how Pedro welcomed the first guests.
The first review was hard to read. And it was right: the equipment was old. Since then, every euro the apartments earned went back into them. To this day, when a guest points at a problem, Pedro fixes it as fast as he can.
Premium, at SOL, means three simple things: clean, modern, and home automation that makes life easier for the guest and for the host.
The tool
João is an engineer and lives in Porto. He started by building for SOL what was not for sale: a booking page with card payment, guest details before arrival, and a stay portal.
The first version, in 2026, was not even that. It was a guest portal with a game: a Madeira bucket list with levels to climb and perks at local cafés. The hosts we talked to wanted something else. They wanted the money: bookings without OTA commission, charged at the right moment, paid into their own account. In July 2026 Capicora became that. By summer, direct bookings with card payment were live on onlyatlantic.com. In September we opened the platform to other places, with a card in hand.
What remains of all this fits in one sentence: one booking should run the whole stay. The enemy is the handoff. Copying dates, details and codes between tools, or playing help desk for five vendors.
Why we opened it
Because we believe small hosts should own their guests. The guest relationship belongs to whoever opens the door, not to the platform where the guest first clicked. Guests who stayed before, people who come by word of mouth, people who search for your name: that demand is yours.
What we refuse
- Locking anyone in. Leave whenever you want, no notice, no cost. The Direct plan has no monthly fee. On Connected, the monthly care fee is stated before you sign.
- Keeping your guests. Names, emails and reviews are yours. Capicora never markets to them.
- Charging for AI. Your assistant, our tools, nothing per message. The platform never runs a model on your behalf.
Capicora never follows your guests with ads. It is written on the home page, and it is verifiable.
